Young entrepreneur of age 10 takes part in 'UAE Future 50' endeavor alongside other startup founders
In a remarkable showcase of Emirati ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit, the UAE recently unveiled the 'UAE Future 50' initiative. This significant program, aiming to reshape the UAE's futuristic economy, presents 50 promising startups across 15 strategic sectors.
The sectors encompassed by the initiative include groundbreaking domains such as fintech, healthtech, space, and cybersecurity. Other areas of emphasis include renewable energy, smart mobility, and the creative industries. These startups, all led by Emirati entrepreneurs, are poised to play a critical role in transforming the UAE into a knowledge-based economy.
During the launch event at the Boulevard, Emirates Towers, Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, emphasized the government's dedication to nurturing startups and expanding the role of women in entrepreneurship. Notably, 26% of the startups launched by Emiratis in this first edition are founded by women. The government's ambition is to double that percentage in future editions, further underscoring its commitment to empowering women in business.
One standout entrepreneur of the list is 10-year-old Al Dhabi Al Mheiri, the youngest member of the group. A remarkable Generation Alpha founder, Al Dhabi created Rainbow Chimney, a child-led publishing platform aimed at empowering children through storytelling.
The UAE Future 50 is an integral part of the 100 Future Companies program, launched in 2023 by the Ministry of Economy in partnership with the Government Development and the Future Office. This program identified and supported UAE-based companies leading in future-focused sectors.
Nada Al Mheiri, Creative Marketing Executive at the Government Development and Future Office, explained the selection process behind the UAE Future 50. "We wanted to highlight companies that can shape the future of the UAE while inspiring the next generation of Emirati entrepreneurs," she said.
