Yale Startup Yideshare Takes Off With Green Ride-Sharing
Yideshare, a new student startup at Yale, is making waves with its innovative ride-sharing platform. Launched by CEO Aria Wang '27, the service aims to reduce emissions and costs for students traveling to and from Bradley International Airport, over 50 miles from campus. The startup has received a boost from Tsai CITY, which provided $500 for its development.
Yideshare's website, accessible via NetIDs, enables students to post ride details and coordinate with peers. The team is currently working on enhancing the platform by adding messaging functionality and developing a mobile app with push notifications. To boost user engagement, Yideshare is offering a $25 Uber gift card giveaway around October break.
Looking ahead, Yideshare plans to expand its services beyond airport rides. The startup envisions facilitating shared rides to local stores like Trader Joe's or Target, further promoting sustainability and cost savings among Yale students.
While there is no available information regarding the next planned expansion of Yideshare, the startup's innovative approach to ride-sharing has already gained traction among Yale students. With support from Tsai CITY and a focus on user engagement, Yideshare is poised to continue making a positive impact on campus sustainability.
