Yakutia Kicks Off Modernization of Employment Services to Boost Efficiency and Reduce Unemployment
The Head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, and Deputy Head of the Federal Labor and Employment Service, Yan Talbatsky, recently discussed the modernization of employment services in the region. The meeting focused on transforming employment centers into comprehensive personnel hubs, aiming to express efficiency and reduce unemployment.
The modernization project, set to be completed in six stages by 2028, will change how employment centers operate and provide services. After the update, these centers will be seen as full-fledged personnel centers, not just job exchanges. The phased update will start with 17 regions, including Yakutia, and is expected to reduce the average time of employment by a third.
The discussion also centered around strengthening collaboration between the Employment Service, employers, and the professional education system. This will facilitate retraining programs and targeted personnel training, ensuring the workforce stays relevant and competitive.
In Yakutia, 16 employment centers are slated for update, with a particular focus on Arctic regions. The modernization project in Hamburg-Nord, Germany, serves as a model. There, employment offices are being revitalized in a two-year project, with a planned move-in for autumn 2027.
The modernization of employment services in Yakutia is underway, with a clear roadmap and funding secured. This transformation aims to enhance employment center efficiency, reduce unemployment, and create a more dynamic and responsive workforce. The project's success will depend on effective collaboration between stakeholders and a commitment to continuous improvement.
