Winterveldt High School Gets Tech Boost with 31 Computers and 34 Chairs
Winterveldt High School has received a significant boost with the donation of computers and chairs, thanks to a collaborative effort led by Cllr. Mncedi Ndzwanana, the Speaker of Council. The initiative, supported by various entities including the Telkom Foundation, aims to equip learners for the digital future.
The Telkom Foundation, headed by Beauty Apleni as CEO of Openserve, has been instrumental in this project. Since 2017, the foundation has implemented programs like the Telkom FutureMakers Township Innovation Incubator, fostering digital innovation and entrepreneurship in South African townships. Their Connected Schools program has already benefited over 7,000 learners and educators since its inception.
Councillor Ndzwanana expressed his excitement about the initiative, highlighting its importance in preparing learners for future challenges. Winterveldt High School's Acting Principal and Deputy Principal Ubisse Simon Felix appreciated the donation, noting that it would enhance educational delivery. The school received 31 computers and 34 chairs, thanks to the collaboration of education officials, advisors, teachers, and school leadership.
This initiative is part of Cllr. Ndzwanana's vision to foster a technologically adept generation. It involves various entities such as the Telkom Foundation, Tshwane North College, CoGTA, and Eskom, all working together to create an optimal educational environment for Winterveldt High School students.
