Welcome Festivities Greet Future Class of '29 Students

On a chilly Sunday in April, Holy Cross University opened its doors to the Class of 2028, inviting admitted students and their families to explore the campus and get a taste of college life. Despite the snowfall the day before, the event, held on April 14th, was met with a large turnout, as evidenced by Admissions Counselor Elisabeth Villa '22's enthusiasm.

The day was filled with a variety of activities designed to give students a comprehensive and welcoming experience of the college community and offerings. From campus tours to info sessions, parents and students had ample opportunities to interact with current students, faculty members, and administrators.

As students walked through the picturesque campus, they were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome at various locations, including Brooks, Hogan, and Stein. Villa, who enjoys talking with recently accepted students and sharing her Holy Cross experience with them, was among those who extended a friendly hand.

In addition to the informational sessions, students participated in creative activities like art projects that fostered community engagement. There was also a club fair where students could learn about the various extracurricular activities available at Holy Cross. One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for families to attend Palm Sunday mass on campus.

As students settled into their second term, they had the chance to reflect on the habits that have benefited them in their academic and extracurricular activities after two-and-a-half months on campus. Many of the habits that students bring to college are ones that they have developed before arriving at Holy Cross.

Holy Cross, ranked #28 for best liberal arts colleges in 2025 by U.S. News and among the 390 top colleges according to The Princeton Review, offers a nurturing and supportive environment for its students. The university was also ranked as 65 among the top colleges in the U.S. by The Wall Street Journal.

Approximately 500 admitted students were invited to the event, and they were treated to campus favourites like Mac Daddy and The Dogfather from food trucks present on the day. The event for the Class of 2029 was held the day before, on April 13th.
