University of Wolverhampton & AUC Launch 6-Year Fast-Track to Doctor Degree
The University of Wolverhampton and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) have joined forces to create a fast-track route to becoming a qualified doctor. The new six-year course, set to commence in 2026, aims to attract high-achieving students from the UAE, Morocco, India, and the UK.
The partnership, reflected in a Memorandum of Understanding, begins with a two-year accredited Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree at the University of Wolverhampton. Students will then directly enter the second semester of AUC's four-year Doctor of Medicine program. This collaboration, praised by Professor Ebrahim Adia, Vice Chancellor of Wolverhampton, and Dr. Mark Rosenberg, Dean of AUC, offers eligible students clinical training opportunities in the UK, USA, and beyond. Upon completion, graduates can join the US National Resident Program or the UK's General Medical Council Foundation Year training pathways.
The new course, starting in 2026, provides a unique pathway to a medical degree. It reflects both universities' commitment to expanding global opportunities and promoting social mobility. The first cohorts are expected to benefit from this innovative collaboration, with the potential to make a significant impact on the medical landscape.
