Two hundred thirty-two novices joining the justice profession
In Baden-Württemberg, 232 trainees have embarked on their journey to become judicial administration assistants, marking the start of the training year 2025. This announcement was made following the selection process, which saw a total of 2,284 applications.
Justice Minister Marion Gentges extended her congratulations to the successful candidates, highlighting the crucial role that judicial administration assistants play in the smooth operation of the justice system. As the first point of contact for citizens, lawyers, and other parties involved in proceedings, these trainees will handle correspondence, administer files, and operate with an overview and organizational skills.
The Higher Regional Courts in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart are responsible for the application and training of judicial administration assistants, depending on the regional finance where the activity in the judicial service is sought. In the district of the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe, 90 trainees were hired from 726 applicants, while 142 trainees were selected from 1,558 applicants in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart.
Trainees will be stationed at various locations across Baden-Württemberg, including local and regional courts. They will work closely and trustingly with judges, public prosecutors, legal assistants, and judicial administration specialists. This close collaboration will provide exciting insights into the processes of the justice system.
Elmar Steinbacher, the head of the Ministry of Justice and Migration, welcomed a part of the trainees in the ministry. The training to become a judicial administration assistant offers a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the workings of the justice system.
Trainees who meet certain requirements have the opportunity to complete a six-month additional training course for the beam service career of the middle judicial service (judicial administration specialist). The monthly training allowance for judicial administration assistants in the first year of training is €1,236.82 gross, which increases to €1,290.96 gross in the second year, and €1,340.61 gross in the third year.
Applications for the start of training in 2026 are now open at the Higher Regional Courts of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. Judicial administration assistants are employed in the public service of the state of Baden-Württemberg and are paid according to the collective agreement for the public service of the Länder (TV-L).
