Looking for some new reality TV shows to fill the void left by jungle camps? Here are a few options to keep you entertained:
"Celebrities Under the Palms"
If you're in search of a jungle camp alternative, "Celebrities Under the Palms" could be just the ticket. This show's third season kicks off on February 17, 2025, on Sat.1, with episodes airing every Monday at 8:15 PM. For those who can't wait, Joyn will air the episodes a week early, with the first episode already available since February 10. Contestants include repeat offender Claudia Obert (63), "DSDS" candidates Menowin Fröhlich (37), Melody Haase (31), and Cosimo Citiolo (43), as well as reality stars Kim Virginia (29) and Nikola Glumac (28), who found love in the show.
"Too Hot to Handle: Germany" (Netflix)
Streaming services are also offering some new content. Netflix is airing the second season of "Too Hot to Handle: Germany" starting February 18. Ten young, attractive singles will be checking into a tropical resort, where they are supposed to form couples. However, unlike other dating shows, physical contact and sexual activity are strictly forbidden. The contestants can win a jackpot of 200,000 euros at the end of the season, but only if they keep their hands to themselves. Any romantic contact between contestants will result in a deduction from the prize money. The ten singles participating in season two include Cassy, a former "Germany's next Topmodel" contestant.
"Big Brother" (Sat.1)
The new season of "Big Brother" is set to launch on February 24 at 11:25 PM on Sat.1. In "Big Brother - The Entry", Melissa Khalaj (35) and Jochen Bendel (57) will accompany the first meeting of the housemates. Starting at the end of February, "Big Brother - The Show" will air on sixx with two hosts each episode. The daily live shows with Jochen Schropp (46), Jochen Bendel, Melissa Khalaj, and newcomer Elena Gruschka will analyze and comment on the happenings in the house in daily live shows at 7:15 PM. Fans can also watch the action 24/7 on the streaming platform Joyn.
"The Summer House of the Normals" (RTL+)
RTL's popular "Summer House of the Stars" is getting a new version. Starting February 24, 2025 (weekly on RTL+), eight non-celebrity couples will compete in the infamous "House of Misery" in Bocholt-Barlo for 25,000 euros. Instead of actors, models, and influencers, viewers will see bank clerks, train conductors, and real estate agents competing against IT buyers.
"Are You The One?" and "Make Love, Fake Love" (RTL+)
Currently still airing are the dating shows "Are You The One?" and "Make Love, Fake Love" (both on RTL+). In "Make Love, Fake Love", protagonist Karina Wagner (28) meets men in season three and has to trust her instincts and feelings. Some candidates are only pretending to be single to win the 50,000 euro prize at the end.
Fans will have to wait a little longer for the following, yet already announced reality formats: "Celebrity Separated" (RTL+), "KDRS" (season five in April 2024), and "Ex on the Beach" (season six, premiere date yet to be announced).
