- The role of ESC's mascot Lumo is to symbolize the potency of melodies.
Introducing Lumo, the bustling spirit of musical harmony and inclusivity! This spirited mascot graces us as ESC's jubilant emissary of musical diversity and camaraderie in Basel. Lumo embodies the boundless might of music, with a pulsating heart, an enchanting lion's mane, and a welcoming wide mouth. This vigorous heart, brimming with life, is derived from the word "luminous" – radiant – a fitting depiction of this lively mascot.
Lumo's creation was a collaboration between the brilliant minds at SRG and 20-year-old design prodigy Lynn Brunner, a second-semester student at Basel's University of Arts and Design. As the mastermind behind Lumo's design, Lynn, along with the other four finalist design students, will receive a pair of coveted tickets to a rehearsal during ESC's final week in May.
The Eurovision Song Contest trophy will be bestowed upon the victorious contestant on May 17th, in the revered St. Jakobshalle, Basel. Switzerland secured the coveted hosting position following Nemo’s triumph in Malmo.
On a weekend brimming with suspense, on Saturday, the talented representative for Germany will be chosen, with the captivating show broadcast by Das Erste at 8:15 PM, live from the heart of Cologne.
