Hawaii Hilo Women's Soccer Shines in Upcoming 2025 Season

The Hawaii Hilo women's soccer team is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season, boasting a No. 24 preseason national ranking and a strong academic record.

The team earned the U.S. Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year, with a commendable team GPA of 3.54. Moreover, an impressive 96.8% of the team made the Academic All-PacWest Team, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher. The team was also named a Ramon Goya Academic Team of the Year for achieving the highest GPA among large-rostered programs.

On the field, the Vulcans will host two additional college contests on Sept. 7 and Sept. 11, with the season opener taking place on September 5, 2025, against Chico State. Other home games include Westminster (Sept. 14), Biola (Oct. 9), Vanguard (Oct. 11), Hawaii Pacific University (HPU) (Oct. 17), Point Loma (Oct. 23), Concordia (Oct. 25), and Chaminade (Nov. 6).

Ticket prices for the 2025 season have been announced. Seniors (65+) and middle/high school students can purchase tickets for $5 each, while adults can buy season tickets for $75, seniors for $40, and middle/high school students for the same price. Individual game tickets for adults cost $10.

Tickets can be purchased through the AudienceView Campus ticketing platform at HiloAthletics.com/tickets. Free admission is available for students, faculty, and staff from University of Hawaii at Hilo or Hawaii Community College (with valid ID card) and kids ages 12 and under. Home matches at Vulcan Soccer Field will have the women's teams playing first, with a 12:30 p.m. start.

Gene Okamura, the head coach of the Hawaii Hilo women's soccer team, will lead the team as they aim to build on their 2024 season, where they finished as runner-up in the inaugural four-team Pacific West Conference Championships postseason tournament and reached the NCAA West Regional Second Round.

The home fall slate for the Vulcan Soccer Field includes 15 total home matches and five doubleheaders, with both Vulcans Soccer teams aiming to build on qualifying for the first-ever Pacific West Conference Championships postseason tournament in 2024.

The men's soccer team's home matches at the Vulcan Soccer Field include Biola Eagles (Oct. 9, 3 PM), Vanguard Lions (Oct. 11, 3 PM), HPU Sharks (Oct. 16, 3 PM), Point Loma Sea Lions (Oct. 23, 3 PM), Concordia Golden Eagles (Oct. 25, 3 PM), and a Senior Day match vs. Chaminade Silverswords (Nov. 6, 3 PM). Away matches include Chaminade Silverswords (Oct. 18 in Honolulu) and HPU Sharks (Nov. 8 in Waipahu). Postseason PacWest Championships are scheduled in mid-November in Santa Barbara, California.
