New Teachers Sworn In and Assigned Mentors in Regensburg
In a ceremony held at the Kreuzschule elementary school in the old stadium, Bavarian State Minister Tanja Schweiger swore in 12 trainee teachers for middle schools and 46 for elementary schools as provisional civil servants. A total of 31 of these new teachers will begin their service at schools within the organization, with 30 of them being deployed in the city of Regensburg.
During the ceremony, the new teachers pledged to diligently fulfill their duties and swore allegiance to the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Constitution of the Free State of Bavaria. School Director Clemens Sieber, along with his five colleagues, presided over the swearing-in. Seminar principals Kerstin Lindner (elementary) and Esther Hoffmann (middle) were also present.
Each new teacher will be assigned a mentor teacher for support and guidance on school life. The mentor teachers, experienced teachers who have undergone specific mentor qualifications, will help, advise, and serve as local contact persons. However, the exact names of the mentor teachers involved with these 31 trainees are not specified in the provided information.
Upon deployment, the new teachers will gain initial experience and be introduced to essential tasks of an educator. They will observe experienced colleagues to learn pedagogical approaches and different teaching styles. The trainee teachers were introduced to their new roles as educators during the ceremony.
After the swearing-in ceremony, the new teachers attended their first staff meeting at their deployment schools. They will have numerous opportunities for practical experience through joint lesson analyses and discussions of essential teaching principles during their two weekly seminar days.
Tanja Schweiger wished the trainee teachers joy in accompanying young people and showing them their potential within themselves. She also emphasized that the mentor teachers will provide valuable support in this process.
Three specialist teacher trainees were also sworn in during the ceremony. The new teachers are now ready to embark on their journey as educators, guided by their mentors and ready to make a positive impact on the lives of their students.
