Sesame Street Launches Digital Wellbeing Resources for Kids

Sesame Workshop, the non-profit behind Sesame Street, has announced a series of initiatives to promote digital wellbeing for children. New resources are now available at Sesame.org/digitalwellbeing, with hundreds of full episodes set to air on YouTube from January 2026.

The organization has teamed up with various partners to create these resources. In 2024, they collaborated with experts to promote digital wellbeing, mental health, and online safety for kids. Facebook is supporting Sesame Workshop in launching these new resources, which include videos and digital materials teaching healthy digital habits.

Sesame Workshop will host librarian-led workshops for children and caregivers at public libraries across the country. Additionally, a free professional development course is available for adults to learn and teach these healthy habits. Before these resources were released, Sesame Workshop worked with organizations like Villa Schöpflin, which developed the 'freii' app, and health insurers like DAK-Gesundheit to study media use and its risks among children. International bodies like the OECD also highlighted the need for regulatory frameworks focused on children's wellbeing in the digital world.

Sesame Workshop's latest initiatives aim to equip children, families, and caregivers with the tools they need to navigate the digital world safely and healthily. With the support of partners like Facebook, these resources are now widely accessible, marking a significant step towards promoting digital wellbeing for young audiences.
