School's new academic calendar unveiled

The Ministry of Education in Kazakhstan has announced the academic calendar for the 2025-2026 school year in secondary education organisations. The calendar outlines key dates for instruction and holidays.

The 2025-2026 academic year will commence on September 2 and conclude on May 25, spanning a total of 33 weeks. The year will be divided into four quarters, each with a specific number of weeks dedicated to instruction.

The first quarter will consist of 8 weeks of instruction, followed by the Autumn holidays, which will last for 7 calendar days from October 27 to November 2. The second quarter will also have 8 weeks of instruction.

The third quarter will be the longest, with 10 weeks of instruction. The Winter holidays will then follow, spanning 10 calendar days from December 29, 2025, to January 7, 2026. The fourth quarter will last for 8 weeks of instruction, concluding on May 25, 2026.

In addition to the regular holidays, first graders will have additional holidays for 7 calendar days from February 9 to 15, 2026. The Spring holidays will last for 11 calendar days, from March 19 to 29, 2026.

However, it is important to note that specific holiday dates, such as the winter break and national holidays, are not yet clearly listed in the search results for Kazakhstan's secondary education for 2025-2026. The Ministry of Education or local educational authorities typically set these dates and publish them in official academic calendars closer to or during the academic year.

The ceremonial line-up dedicated to Knowledge Day will be determined by the school's pedagogical council. For the most accurate and detailed holiday schedule, it is recommended to check official Kazakhstan Ministry of Education resources or individual school websites.

With this comprehensive academic calendar, students and parents can now plan their schedules for the upcoming school year, ensuring a smooth transition into the new academic year.
