The 2024 Santander W50 Women Leadership Programme, an international initiative to promote female leadership, is set to launch on November 18, 2024. This programme, organised in collaboration with the London School of Economics (LSE), offers 50 women leaders from across the globe the opportunity to perfect their leadership style and gain insights into global leadership techniques [1][2].

Santander Open Academy, a platform offering fully subsidized courses and scholarships at top universities worldwide, is the platform for applications. Women directors interested in participating have until January 7, 2025, to register on the Santander Open Academy website [3]. The course cost, tuition fees, and accommodation will be covered for the winners [4].

The programme, which will be held in person, provides participants with access to an online, certificated course on women's leadership by LSE. Additionally, they will have the chance to attend high impact conferences and individual/group coaching sessions [1]. The course aims to help participants develop essential skills and expand their leadership capabilities [1].

Santander, a pioneer in education, employability, and entrepreneurship for 27 years, has deployed more than €2.3 billion and provided over €1.5 billion to help people and businesses through agreements with nearly 1,200 universities and organizations [5]. Over 800 women have taken part in SW50 over the past 14 years [6].

The contest will take place in 11 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the UK, Uruguay, and the US. The 50 winners from each country will join the global SW50 community [6]. The winners will also have the opportunity to attend an event with the other winners of their local contest [7].

LSE, a global community specializing in social sciences, is the institution offering the course. The programme aims to find the world's 50 best women directors from the 50 best in each of the participating countries [6]. For precise application details or deadlines, visiting Santander Open Academy or Santander’s official websites is recommended, as the information is updated annually [7].
