Redesign unveiled: Team expansion in progress on revamped platform!
The Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF), the world's largest online design school with over 80,000 students, has undergone a significant transformation. The platform, known for its comprehensive design education, has received a head-to-toe redesign, marking IxDF's biggest release to date.
The redesign focuses on enhancing the quality of online design education while decreasing its costs. New, detailed courses have been added, such as the "UI Design Patterns for Successful Software," which delves into topics like simplifying data entry and the social aspects of UI design, with multi-part video lessons and community-based networking features.
While some older course materials, including recommendations of design tools and accessibility courses, may require updates to stay current with newer tools like Figma, IxDF continues to build out rich, structured content aimed at practical design challenges, supporting a broad skill range from beginners to advanced learners.
The platform's security has been bolstered with improved firewalls and additional protection for databases. High-spec database servers have been invested in for improved performance, and new caching strategies have been introduced on both the database and framework levels. Database queries have been optimized on the back-end.
The user interface (UI) has been revamped for a better user experience and technical infrastructure. Fonts load optimally, and the UI provides faster responses as a result of code optimizations on both the front-end and back-end, leading to reduced page load times.
The redesigned platform now offers on-demand access to Master Class webinars with design experts, and members can access these webinars for a special price of $5 per webinar. Positions open include Senior Content Strategist and Writer, Senior Design Educator, and Member Support Unicorn.
The redesign also includes improvements to animations, enhanced copy, and better readability within lessons. IxDF is looking to hire passionate new teammates to help it scale up even more, offering a fully remote, independent lifestyle, limitless opportunities for learning and growth, and a results-oriented and rewarding culture.
In addition, four new courses are soon to be released, two of which are top-secret. The Interaction Design Foundation continues to innovate and push the boundaries of online design education, making it an exciting time to be a part of this growing community.
