Police in North Rhine-Westphalia (BPOL NRW) apprehended suspects following a terrorist threat.
In an incident that occurred around 04:35 on August 17, an employee of a supermarket at Dortmund Central Station was threatened with a knife by two suspects. The suspects, a 19-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, were apprehended by the Federal Police following a detailed description provided by a witness.
The younger suspect, a 34-year-old man from Castrop-Rauxel, was found to have a one-handed knife in his waist pouch during a search. However, due to cooperative behaviour, he was released at the scene. The other suspect, who is also homeless, was brought to the ground again, restrained with handcuffs, and taken to the station due to their behaviour.
The Federal Police Dortmund swiftly responded to the scene with several patrols.
