Plano Woman Sues School Over Teacher's Sexual Grooming of Students
A Plano woman has filed a lawsuit against Great Lakes Academy, its principal, and a former teacher, Jacob Allred. The suit alleges sexual grooming of her daughter and another student, adding to a string of accusations against educators in North Texas.
The lawsuit seeks at least $1,000,000 in compensation, naming the academy, its principal, and Allred as defendants. It claims Allred groomed two minor students at the school. The plaintiffs' lawyer argues that the academy and its principal allowed this behavior and failed to maintain a safe learning environment.
The mother discovered that the principal was aware of Allred's sexual advances on students but did not dismiss him. Allred was later sentenced to 20 years in prison for two counts of sexual performance of a child and improper relationship between educator and student.
