Online Job Interview Training 'Fit for the Job Interview' Empowers Students in Region Kassel
Students in Region Kassel have benefited from an online job interview training, 'Fit for the Job Interview', organized by the Berufspatenprojekt. The project, funded by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, supports young people, often with migration or refugee backgrounds, in their transition from school to work.
Eleven experienced mentors from various fields acted as sparring partners for the students during the training. The mentors, including representatives from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, the regional school authority Kassel, and local companies in Kassel, provided valuable insights and support.
The training involved students from BÜA classes at vocational schools in the city and was organized in cooperation with the Jugendberufshilfe and the Handwerkskammer Kassel. Participants could book appointments with fictional companies for online job interviews via a booking portal. After each interview, participants received feedback and tips for further job application activities. Despite some technical issues and missed appointments, the project is planned to be continued next year.
Interested volunteers can contact coordinator Brigitte Vogler for more information about the project and how to get involved. The Berufspatenprojekt has proven successful in supporting young people in their job search and is committed to continuing its efforts to help students transition smoothly from school to work.
