Notable Accomplishments by University Staff During the Academic Year of 2022-2023
Coventry University's faculty members have made a significant impact in various fields during the academic year 2022-23. Despite limited information available about their participation in conferences, workshops, or presentations at Coventry University, RITES, the International Design Conference in Bangalore, or specific titles of their presentations, several faculty members have stood out.
Snehanshu Mukherjee, Course Leader and Professor of Interior Architecture & Design, was one such standout. On April 22, 2023, he participated in the 'Reviving Practice of Indic Architecture - From Libraries to laboratories' conclave at the Department of Heritage Science and Technology, IIT-Hyderabad.
In the realm of research, Shipra Kukreja and Ginu George co-authored a paper titled "Identity in the Post Pandemic World". Rashim Mahajan, Associate Professor of Interior Architecture Design, was featured in the 'Kuch Lamhe Fursat Ke' episode that aired on DD Urdu's YouTube channel on April 20, 2023.
Fashion design faculty members also made a mark, presenting research papers as part of The Responsible Fashion Series - The Silk Roads Journey. Topics ranged from classrooms and cohorts to identity in the post-pandemic world. Saumya Pande, Course Leader and Professor of Fashion Design, co-authored a paper titled 'Crafting the Indian Fashionscape': The Age of the Enabler' and presented it at an international conference at the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
Anupama Datt, Assistant Professor of Fashion Design, presented a paper titled 'Punjab Textiles - Beyond Phulkari' at an international conference at the Textiles & Clothing Research Centre (TCRC), New Delhi, India.
Moreover, Anshoo Rajvanshi, Associate Professor of Foundation in Design, conducted a workshop on 'Conceptual Pathfinder' at the 9th International Conference on Research Into Design at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He also presented a paper titled 'Nurturing Information Literacy and Visual Literacy amongst Design Students using Constructivist Approach' at the same conference.
Shubhankar Goswami, Lecturer, Interior Architecture & Design, delivered a performance lecture at RITES, the Annual festival of the Sociology Department held on 10th April 2023 at the Department of Sociology, Hindu College, University of Delhi. He also conducted an interactive online session on "The Narrative of movement in Indian Architecture" as part of E-Xplore the Globe:India Webinar organized by Coventry University, UK on 25th April 2023.
The Responsible Fashion Series, founded by four institutions: London College of Fashion, Parsons school of Fashion and Design in New York, IFM, Paris and Domus from Milan, provided a platform for these impressive achievements.
These accomplishments serve as a testament to the university's commitment to academic excellence and its faculty's dedication to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.
