Music students from Park University's International Center for Music's String Studios will showcase their talents in a concert scheduled for November 14th.
The International Center for Music (ICM) at Park University is set to kick off its 2024-25 season with a holiday concert, featuring a stellar line-up of renowned musicians. The Park ICM Orchestra's holiday concert, under the direction of Steven McDonald, D.M.A., will take place on Saturday, December 7, at the Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the University's Parkville Campus, starting at 7:30 p.m.
The concert promises a broad spectrum of emotional depth and a captivating performance, showcasing compositions written for string instruments. The programme will include eight solo performances, a violin duet, and the Park Quartet, made up of James Farquhar, Ilkhom Mukhiddinov, Christian dos Santos, and Mumin Turgunov.
Violinist Ben Sayevich, cellist Daniel Veis, and violist Chung-Hoon Peter Chun will take centre stage for their individual performances. Sayevich, a highly acclaimed violinist, is known for his virtuosity, teaching prowess, and collaborations with prestigious orchestras. Veis' repertoire spans classical to contemporary works, and he is renowned for his passionate and nuanced interpretations.
