Mother's Pen in Action: Bhavya Shree from Kerala Pens Down Feelings of India

Bhavya Shree V, a poet, teacher, and storyteller from Kerala, is making waves in the literary world with her minimalist and emotionally intense poetry. Recognised for her poignant exploration of themes like identity, womanhood, and social reality, Bhavya's work is both a form of rebellion and a means for healing and transformation.

Born and raised in a conservative, middle-class family, Bhavya struggled with language barriers during her schooling under the Malayalam state syllabus. However, she found solace in writing, publishing her first piece in her school magazine during higher secondary. Although it went unnoticed at the time, this early foray into literature marked the beginning of a remarkable journey.

Bhavya's child inspired themes such as Postpartum, Labour Room, and Why Do I Love Myself Most. One of her poems, Why Do I Love Myself Most?, was born from a question posed by Vijisha, a reader who asked, "Why do all your poems echo sorrow?" This question led Bhavya to delve deeper into her emotions, resulting in a powerful and personal poem.

Throughout her journey, Bhavya has been supported by a team of mentors and friends. Anulal Sir played a significant role in her development as a writer, providing encouragement and helping her get more of her poems published. Mr. Azarudheen, another mentor, continues to provide feedback and motivation that shapes her growth as a poet.

Bhavya's mother, Bharathi, paved her path with her sweat and sacrifice, and her husband, Mr. Krishnakumar, now reads her poems as her first readers. Friends like Jumana and Aneesha, who were there during her early years of writing, continue to provide encouragement and support.

Bhavya's poems have resonated with many readers, with some sharing that they find a reflection of their own experiences in works like She ISN'T, Postpartum, or Untouchable. Her poems have the power to provide peace, strength, or direction to readers.

One of Bhavya's poems was honoured with the Reader's Choice Award, and she was recently shortlisted for the Tribute Global Digi Awards for Women 2025 under the category of Excellence in Poetic Storytelling & Social Realism[1][2]. This nomination highlights her contribution to literary arts centered on women's empowerment and social issues.

Bhavya extends her warmest congratulations to her fellow nominees for the Tribute Global Digi Awards. She thanks the entire team of Holistic Pine and Anulal Sir for their unwavering support. As she continues to share her poems on her blog Bhavya Bharathi[4], Bhavya's journey as a writer is about finding light through shadows, giving voice to emotions, and reshaping how we understand literature.
