Local government action day for females
The municipal gender equality offices have announced the inter-municipal Action Day "Politics Needs Women," scheduled for October 18, 2025. This event, aimed at supporting women in their rights in municipal politics, will take place at the Würzburg Town Hall in Rückermainstraße 2.
The special program under the motto "Have Your Say. Shape Things. Celebrate." promises a day filled with networking, participation, and self-confident action. The event will run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and registration is open until October 6, 2025, via www.gleichstellung-unterfranken.de/projekte/der-interkommunale-aktionstag.
Participation in the event is free, and it is open to all women who are socially engaged, professionally, voluntarily, or with the desire to become politically active. First-time participants and long-standing co-shapers are both invited.
A highlight will be the subsequent discussion with politicians from different political fields. However, the female politicians participating in the discussion at the anniversary of the action day "Politics Needs Women" in October 2025 in Würzburg have not been publicly disclosed yet.
The Action Day aims to develop strategies, learn about scope for action, and provide space for networking to support women in municipal politics. To facilitate attendance, childcare and a car-sharing option to Würzburg will be provided if needed.
Participants can engage in conversation at themed tables and gather new impulses. The event seeks to address the issue of women being underrepresented in parliaments and municipal bodies and facing hostility within and outside of plenary halls.
