Local action initiative for female representation in municipal administration
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, the Lower Franconian municipal equal opportunity officers will organise the tenth edition of the inter-municipal action day, "Politics Needs Women", at Würzburg Town Hall, Rückermainstraße 2. This event aims to support women in local politics and address the underrepresentation of women in parliaments and local committees, as well as the hostility they often face.
The anniversary of this event will feature a special program under the motto "Have your say. Get involved. Celebrate." The day will run from 10:00 to 16:00 and will provide a space for networking, participation, and self-confident action.
The event is open to all women who are socially engaged, whether professionally, voluntarily, or with the desire to become politically active. Registration for the event can be completed via www.gleichstellung-unterfranken.de/projekte/der-interkommunale-aktionstag before October 6, 2025.
Participation in the event is free, and childcare and a carpool to Würzburg will be provided if needed. A highlight of the event will be a discussion with politicians from various fields. Theme tables will also be set up for participants to engage in conversation and gather new ideas.
The goal of the action day is to develop strategies, learn about scope for action, and provide space for networking. Over the past decade, the event has provided a space for exchange, new impulses, and personal empowerment.
So, whether you're a first-timer or a long-time contributor, we invite you to join us for this important day. Let's work together to create a more equal and inclusive political landscape in Lower Franconia.
