The exhibition "My Book - My Image - My Self" is currently on display at the New Town Neighborhood Library, Zur Saaleaue 25a, and will run until September 22, 2025. This unique exhibition features artworks created by students of Liliengrundschule, under the guidance of visual artist Wiebke Kirchner. The project, which is an artistic exploration of self-expression and identity, has been generously funded by the Verein Freunde der Stadtbibliothek e.V. The association's support has enabled the students to create a collection of thought-provoking and visually stunning artworks. The exhibition has attracted attention from various quarters, including the Commissioner for Culture and Sports, Dr. Judith Marquardt. She is scheduled to visit the exhibition on September 18, 2025, at 9 am, to appreciate the students' work firsthand. Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to delve into the students' creative interpretations of their identities, as expressed through their artworks. The exhibition promises to be a fascinating exploration of the artistic potential of young minds, guided by the experienced hand of Wiebke Kirchner. The New Town Neighborhood Library serves as the perfect venue for this exhibition, providing a conducive environment for art appreciation. As the exhibition continues, it invites the public to engage with the students' work, reflect on their own identities, and celebrate the power of self-expression through art. Despite extensive searches, information about the founding members of the association "Freunde der Stadtbibliothek e.V." that supported the project remains elusive. However, the impact of their support is evident in the impressive exhibition on display. As the exhibition nears its final days, it serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting artistic endeavours, particularly those that inspire and educate the younger generation. So, if you haven't already, make sure to visit the "My Book - My Image - My Self" exhibition before it closes on September 22, 2025.
