The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has recently unveiled the updated syllabus for Class 12th Business Studies, effective from the academic year 2025-26. The syllabus maintains a well-balanced focus on management functions, financial management, marketing, and consumer protection topics for Commerce stream students.

The syllabus is structured around several main units, each with a specific marks distribution. Here's a breakdown of the units and their respective marks:

1. Nature and Significance of Management: 6 marks 2. Principles of Management: 7 marks 3. Business Environment: 3 marks 4. Planning: 6 marks 5. Organising: 8 marks 6. Staffing: 7 marks 7. Directing: 8 marks 8. Controlling: 5 marks 9. Financial Management: 11 marks 10. Marketing: 11 marks 11. Consumer Protection: 8 marks

The updated syllabus emphasises the importance of understanding the principles of management, financial management, marketing, and consumer protection. It covers topics such as Taylor's Scientific Management, Feyol's Principles of Management, the Marketing mix (including the four Ps: Products, Price, Place, and Promotion), and the Concept of Marketing- The Social Marketing.

In the area of financial management, the syllabus covers the concept and importance of Financial Planning, which discusses the process of planning for future financial needs. The Consumer Protection Act 2019 is a key topic in the Consumer Protection unit, outlining the rights and responsibilities of consumers.

The syllabus also delves into the interdependence of planning and controlling processes, discussing their relationship in detail. The Organising unit covers various aspects of organisation structure, delegation, and recruitment, while the Directing unit focuses on the meaning, characteristics, importance, principles, elements, and improving communication effectiveness.

The syllabus includes a total of 100 marks, with 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for practical assessments. The updated syllabus can be found as a free PDF on the official RBSE website. Students are advised to check official Rajasthan board sources or their schools for any minor updates or revisions.
