Lack of Agreement Between Parents and Summer Camps leads to potential dangers, warns Senator
Get ready for a summer filled with fun and improvement for nearly 3.2 million schoolkids across Kazakhstan! That's right, Senator Talgat Zhunisov reported a plan to cover 90% of the nation's schoolchildren with summer activities aimed at both recreation and health enhancement.
This ambitious project involves organizing year-round recreation in 16 camps, while 189 seasonal, 512 tented, and yurt camps will open up in various stages. Additionally, five new children's centers will be established in Atyrau, Kostanai, Abai, Jetisu regions, and Astana city, as part of the President's instruction to launch 50 health centers.
As part of the "Zhazdyq Zholdama" project, 10,000 children will receive health improvement subsidized by the "Qazaqstan halyqa" fund. However, Senator Zhunisov raised several systemic concerns that hinder the full organization of children's recreation: unwarranted price dumping, insufficient quality control, bureaucratic hurdles in obtaining medical activity licenses, and a lack of standardized contracts between parents and camps.
To address these issues, Senator Zhunisov proposed initiating committees for distributing travel vouchers for children from socially vulnerable populations, revising the medical activity license acquisition process, establishing a unified standard contract between parents and camps, including counselors, pedagogues-organizers, and night supervisors in standard staffing, creating standards for counselor training, and even developing a certification system.
These comprehensive programs not only provide leisure but also emphasize educational and cultural enrichment, addressing the issue of students slacking off during the summer. By improving the health of children and ensuring quality and transparency in planning and execution, the summer programs aim to address systemic problems within the education and healthcare systems and promote a well-rounded, healthy, and productive future for Kazakhstan's youth.
- To ensure the holistic development of children during the summer, the proposed programs not only focus on recreation but also prioritize educational and self-development opportunities through personal growth and learning.
- As part of the overall summer plan, the establishment of children's centers and the "Zhazdyq Zholdama" project will facilitate educational-and-self-development programs aimed at promoting personal growth, learning, and cultural enrichment among the nation's schoolchildren.
