Kenya Launches NYOTA Project to Empower Youth Nationwide

The Government of Kenya, supported by the World Bank, has initiated the NYOTA Project, a nationwide endeavor aimed at empowering the country's youth. The project, National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement, underscores the government's dedication to inclusive economic growth and job creation, aligning with Kenya's digital transformation agenda.

The NYOTA Project, designed to generate employment, support enterprises, promote savings culture, and digitally empower youth, was launched by John Kipchumba Tanui, Principal Secretary in the State Department for ICT and the Digital Economy. He encouraged Kenya's youth to embrace the project and leverage the resources and opportunities it presents.

To commence the project, Tanui joined Baringo County leaders in Kabarnet on Monday, October 6, for a sensitisation programme targeting local leadership. The event aimed to raise awareness and foster support for the NYOTA Project within the county.

The NYOTA Project is a significant step in expanding opportunities for young Kenyans, as noted by Tanui. It is part of Kenya's broader strategy to equip youth with digital and entrepreneurial skills, enhance job creation, and fortify the country's human capital base for the evolving digital economy.
