This means integrated comprehensive schools now boast a 3.0% share of the student body, and free Waldorf schools have a 0.7% slice of the educational pie.

On the flip side, schools of the second educational pathway, cooperative comprehensive schools, and special needs schools saw decreases in student population. A bummer, for sure, but things aren't all doom and gloom:

  1. Schools of the second educational pathway: Down by 471 students (60.4%) to 309. Their share of the total student body dropped from 0.4% in 2010/11 to a teensy 0.1% in 2024/25.
  2. Cooperative comprehensive schools: Fell by 442 students (20.5%) to a still significant 1,713. These babies make up 0.8% of the total student population in 2024/25, compared to 1.2% in 2010/11.
  3. Special needs schools: A slight dip by 282 students (2.2%) to 12,606. Their chunk of the student body still remains sizeable at 6.0%, although this is a decrease from 7.4% in 2010/11.
