Herford's Vocational Colleges Open Doors in November

The Circle of Herford's vocational colleges are opening their doors to the public this November. From the 7th to the 8th, teaching staff will provide information about educational programs at five colleges in the region. Meanwhile, teaching at the August-Griese-Vocational College in Loehne will continue on site without changes during the upcoming new construction work, scheduled to start by the end of 2026.

The open door days will take place at specific times for each vocational college. The August-Griese-Vocational College will host its event on Friday, November 7th, from 2pm to 5pm. The Erich-Gutenberg-Vocational College will open its doors on the same day, from 1pm to 5pm. On Saturday, November 8th, the Anna-Siemsen-Vocational College, Friedrich-List-Vocational College, and Wilhelm-Normann-Vocational College will each host their events from 9am to 12pm.

The vocational colleges offer a wide range of educational programs, including Health and Sport, Education and Social Work, and Economy and Administration. They also provide opportunities to acquire or expand professional knowledge in programs like social assistant, construction technician, and higher commercial school. Each college has different professional focuses, tailored to the regional economy, and are partners in dual training with numerous companies. Additionally, they offer continuous educational programs to catch up on and obtain general school leaving certificates.

The open door days provide an excellent opportunity for young people to explore the educational offerings of the vocational colleges firsthand. Each college will host taster days between November 24th and 27th, allowing participants to engage in classes and experience the learning environment. Despite the upcoming new construction work at the August-Griese-Vocational College, teaching will continue on site without changes.
