German Youth Music Competition Witnesses Emergence of Fresh Talent
The Neuss Music School in Germany has once again proven its status as a centre for musical excellence, with several of its students achieving remarkable success at the prestigious "Jugend musiziert" competition. Organised by the German Music Council since 1963, this global youth music competition is considered one of the most important events for the development of young musicians worldwide.
This year's competition, held in Wuppertal, brought together over 1,200 young musicians from across Germany. Among them were students from the Neuss Music School, who showcased their talent and discipline with exceptional performances.
One standout achievement was by Jannes Hamacher, a student of violin master Mario di Nonno, who received a 1st federal prize in the 'Ensemble Early Music' category with the highest score. Jannes' success, along with the achievement of the chamber music ensemble he is a part of, highlights the high artistic level and dedicated work of the young musicians and their teachers at the Neuss music school.
The chamber music ensemble, consisting of Konstantin Janta (oboe), Finn John (flute), Konstantin Radu (clarinet), and Jerry Zhang (piano), was also awarded a 3rd federal prize. Interestingly, each member of the ensemble was a student of a different teacher at the Neuss music school.
Culture Commissioner Ursula Platen emphasised that the achievements of the Neuss music school participants deserve the highest recognition. She noted that these successes serve as an inspiration and a showcase for the cultural hub of Neuss.
The successes at the "Jugend musiziert" competition further highlight the extraordinary talent and great discipline of the students at the Neuss music school. The competition provides a stage for musically talented children and young people to compete and develop further, making it a significant event for the development of young musicians in Germany.

The school's reputation as a centre for musical excellence continues to grow, thanks to the dedication of its students, teachers, and supporters.
