Genealogy Events and Series by National Archives

The National Archives is set to host its annual educational genealogy event, the Genealogy Series, in 2025. After transitioning from the traditional Genealogy Fair to the Genealogy Series in 2021, this event has become a staple for family historians worldwide.

This year's Genealogy Series will take place in May and June, with all sessions broadcast live on YouTube. Attendees can join the event free of charge, and no reservations are required. The National Archives has been hosting Virtual Genealogy Series since 2013, making it an experienced and reliable source for genealogy education.

The 2025 Genealogy Series will provide family history research tools and a general overview of specific topics. These sessions offer valuable resources for all skill levels, focusing on federal records. Thousands of family historians participate during the live event, making it an exciting and engaging experience.

For those interested in previous years' events, posters, handouts, and session videos from the years 2012, 2011, and 2010 can be found on the provided links. Unfortunately, there are no handouts available for the years 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005.

In addition to the Genealogy Series, the National Archives will also host a live genealogy seminar on October 4, 2025, at The Hartog Auditorium at Ashlar Village, Wallingford, CT. The focus of this seminar, titled "CT 250: The People Who Made Connecticut," will delve into the rich history of the state's inhabitants.

More details about the 2025 Genealogy Series can be found on the dedicated page. Past event web pages, posters, session videos, and handouts from the Virtual Genealogy Series in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 are also available for those who wish to explore further. All are welcome to the 2025 Genealogy Series, so mark your calendars and join the National Archives for another exciting journey into family history!
