New State Realschule in Landshut Unveiled: A Center of Encounter and the Future

In a festive ceremony attended by over 200 guests, the new State Realschule in Landshut was officially unveiled. The winning design for the school's new building was submitted by the Stuttgart-based architectural firm, Dasch-Zürn, who beat 23 other competing firms in an architectural competition.

The new school, which has moved from Christoph-Dorner-Straße to Fuggerstraße, is located in the west of Landshut. It boasts a capacity for around 1000 students and offers a stunning view of the flood retention basin. The new building is a testament to modern educational concepts, providing a top-modern learning landscape that is flexible and sustainable.

Minister of Education Anna Stolz was represented by Christian Ceglarek at the event, who delivered a speech. The new State Realschule was described as a center of encounter and a place of the future. The Free State of Bavaria and the Government of Lower Bavaria provided generous funding for the construction, making the project a success due to the efforts of over 80 planning offices, experts, construction companies, and craftsmen.

A multi-faith blessing was given for all who will teach and learn in the new school building. Monsignor Josef Thalhammer, Dean Dr. Nina Lubomierski, Imam Kadir Kinik, and Mesut Karauzum participated in the blessing, symbolising the school's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Headmistress Eva Geppert welcomed the guests at the new school building, expressing her delight at the wonderful new learning and living space. Mayor Alexander Putz also expressed his joy at the inauguration of the school project during his term, highlighting the school's values of friendliness, community, and openness.

The official key handover took place with Mayor Alexander Putz, Johannes Doll, Edith Zehntner, Sebastian Kittelberger, Eva Geppert, and Christian Ceglarek. The new State Realschule in Landshut is set to be a beacon of progressive education, preparing its students for a bright and successful future.
