Flower Spectacle by KAORUKO, Including Practical Workshops

In the heart of Los Angeles, a three-part program is set to captivate audiences with a blend of tradition and modernity, as celebrated Japanese flower artist KAORUKO showcases her distinctive style.

KAORUKO, renowned for her ability to share Japanese culture and spirituality through her performances, will present a three-part program featuring two live shows and a special interactive workshop. The workshops aim to find a balance between tradition and modernity, incorporating Japanese values of wabi-sabi and utilizing the beauty of space.

The first show, titled "Bonsai Style," will transport viewers to ancient Japan, expressing the country's spirituality as cultivated in Shinto rituals and incorporating tea ceremony movements. The performance technique for this show will feature waves created using cloth, a stage technique reminiscent of Kabuki theatre. The theme for the performance is inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's iconic work, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa."

The second live show promises an immersive experience, with music provided by the traditional Japanese instrument, the OSATSUMA shamisen. The flowers and containers for this show will include an iron stand and flowers from the U.S., with the stage adorned with naminuno, or wave cloth, a unique touch reminiscent of KAORUKO's distinctive style known as KAORUKO IKEBANA.

KAORUKO's workshops offer a unique spin on ikebana, evoking Japanese youth culture and qualities of kawaii and pop, allowing personal expression to shine through and tell a story. The theme for the workshop is "Modern Japan" Flower Arrangement.

Beyond her artistic accomplishments, KAORUKO has been honored by the Japanese government for her ability to connect and strengthen ties between Japan and other nations. She is also a pioneer in the bridal industry, having produced over 20,000 weddings and designed the global phenomenon "Yureru Bouquet."

The first show, "Bonsai Style," marks the beginning of a new era, as it is presented in the Imperial year of 2,679, the official English-language interpretation of Japan's new imperial era 'Reiwa' being "Beautiful Harmony." The ascension ceremony of Crown Prince Naruhito to the Japanese Chrysanthemum Throne was broadcast worldwide and included the presentation of the Three Sacred Treasures of Japan.

Join KAORUKO in Los Angeles for an unforgettable journey through Japanese culture and spirituality, as she brings her unique performances to life.
