Roots of the "House of Little Scientists"
The Düsseldorf "House of Little Scientists" is a branch of a nationwide initiative that's been around since 2008. The Youth Welfare Office and Environmental Department have been supporting and training the educators of the 80+ participating municipal childcare facilities. Since 2013, partners like Diakonie Düsseldorf, the Industry and Commerce Chamber, and the Berlin headquarters of the "House of Little Scientists" foundation have joined the team. All partners organize and host workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings, and activities for the "House of Little Scientists."
The aspiration is to foster lasting interest in STEM education and future academic pursuits. The "House of Little Scientists" foundation in Berlin is one of the largest initiatives in Germany focused on early childhood education.
Gear up for an enriching journey, as the Environmental Information Center (EIC) expands its offerings beyond water, air, and energy, delving into the realms of lifestyle, home-and-garden, education-and-self-development, and learning. With the new season of the "House of Little Scientists," children and parents can look forward to immersive workshops and activities designed for holistic growth and development.
