European Legislators Approve Statement Outlining the EU's Global Position
Himmel un Aääd, the ecumenical initiative in Schildgen, Germany, is gearing up for a month filled with talks, workshops, lectures, and interactive activities. Here's a sneak peek at some of the exciting events happening at Altenberger-Dom-Str. 125, 51467 Bergisch Gladbach (Schildgen) in August 2025.
On August 1, renowned guitar teacher Billy Odenthal will give a talk at Himmel un Aääd at 7:30 PM. Billy, known for his love of music, teaching, friends, Schildgen, and Himmel un Aääd, promises an engaging evening.
Cornelia Schwöppe, chairwoman of the Verein LiebevollICH e.V. and president of the Austrian Verein Würdevoll Mensch, will join Billy for a discussion on human dignity on August 13, also at 7:30 PM. This impulse lecture aims to help us understand human dignity and its importance in our lives.
The Doko evening, the fifth "men's evening", a discussion evening of the project group FairSuchen, and the regular English Conversation Club will take place at Himmel un Aääd throughout August. Malcafé with Gabi Gerlach and the Knitting Meeting with Silva Berger are also scheduled for specific dates in August.
Ulla Krah and Sebastian Konietzki will perform Dos Gardenias Para Ti, Latin Music across South America on September 6, starting at 19:00. Silke Aichhorn will entertain with a cabaretistic reading with music on September 26, also at 19:30.
For those who enjoy games, there's a Doppelkopf and Game Evening in cooperation with Spielbaustelle e.V. on August 21, starting at 8:00 PM. The band "Freylechs" will perform a relaxed and humorous evening filled with Klezmer tunes on August 23, starting at 19:30.
Schildgen associations and initiatives are invited to present themselves at the community center with their diverse commitment and offers for the district on August 30, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Among Men - Just Talking will take place for the fifth time on August 28, starting at 20:00. The Rhine Fairy Tale Circle will have an evening on September 3, starting at 6:00 PM.
Himmel un Aääd and the city partnership association Ganey Tikva-Bergisch Gladbach are inviting people to enjoy Klezmer sounds with the band Freylechs as part of the Culture Summer 2025.
