Enhanced Water Safety: St. Ingbert Boosts Swimming Instruction Programs

In a significant move aimed at enhancing the swimming abilities of children and young people, as well as strengthening lifeguard training, a joint application has been passed by the CDU, Free Voters, Greens, Family Party, and FDP in St. Ingbert.

The initiative, which is set to commence in 2025, includes an annual special grant of 4,000 euros for the 'Seahorse' and 'Bronze' swimming badges, and an additional 1,000 euros for obtaining or maintaining the lifeguard badge (silver or gold).

The funds for these initiatives will be distributed proportionally to clubs that successfully administer these badges. This move is part of a broader goal to enable more children to swim safely and increase safety in baths and at water bodies through lifeguard training.

Successful graduates of swimming badges will be invited to the municipal sports awards ceremony, a recognition of their achievements.

The payment to swimming clubs in St. Ingbert will be performance-based, ensuring that the funds are allocated effectively.

In addition to these measures, a gradual increase in general club funding for swimming clubs is planned in St. Ingbert. The current 25% funding will increase to 40% by 2028, providing more resources for clubs to invest in their programmes.

The maximum additional annual cost for these measures is up to 8,225 euros. The factions aim to send a clear signal for more prevention, volunteering, and support for young families through these initiatives.

An evaluation of the swimming education promotion measures is scheduled for 2030 in St. Ingbert. However, it should be noted that the names of the swimming clubs in St. Ingbert that are intended to benefit from these demands are not explicitly mentioned in the available search results.

A standardized form with parental consent for contact will be required for accounting purposes. The funds for these measures will be reallocated from the lease agreement with the Baths Ownership Company GmbH.

The city council's decision to invest in swimming education and lifeguard training is a testament to their commitment to the safety and well-being of the city's children and young people. The initiatives are set to start in 2025, marking an exciting time for swimming clubs and participants in St. Ingbert.
