Encouraging Community Participation for Kentucky's Development: Leadership from NKY Chamber's President Brent Cooper, a University of Kentucky Alumnus

Bradley Cooper: A Pioneer in IT Support and Chamber Leadership

Bradley Cooper, a lifelong fan of the University of Kentucky (UK), embarked on an unexpected journey in 1999 when he founded C-Forward, an IT support business in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. This venture, which later expanded to Covington and Lexington, quickly gained a loyal following and averaged nearly 50% growth in its first three years.

Cooper's fascination with computers, which began during his freshman year at UK, steered him away from his original plan to attend law school. Instead, he found himself at the helm of a thriving business, a role he continues to fulfil as the CEO of C-Forward.

The success of C-Forward did not go unnoticed. The business has received numerous honours, including Small Business of the Year by both the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. It has also been recognised by various growth organisations, such as the Better Business Bureau and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Cooper's commitment to his community is evident in his involvement with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. He served as a volunteer on the Chamber Board of Directors from 2007-2014, was elected board chair in 2011, served as interim president for seven months in 2014, and was named president and CEO in 2017.

As the president and CEO of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Cooper played a crucial role during the pandemic. His unique position allowed him to speak directly to how the pandemic was impacting businesses in the region.

The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, with 1,750 members, is one of the largest chambers in the state and one of the top chambers in the country. Its mission is to promote business growth and improve the economy, making the state as competitive as possible. Cooper believes that involvement in a chamber of commerce is a great way to learn about the community and give back by promoting business and welcoming people into the community.

Cooper's management team helps him 'steer the ship' at C-Forward, while his experience at the University of Kentucky taught him the importance of being present and being a part of something bigger than oneself. This philosophy is reflected in both his business and his leadership at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

C-Forward's initial company slogan was 'Helping you look forward to the future,' which later evolved to 'We make IT easy.' Under Cooper's leadership, both C-Forward and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce continue to look forward to a bright future.
