Elementary school students in Cadolzburg are on track to win their academic races.
In a commendable display of road safety knowledge and practical cycling skills, the fourth graders of Rangau-Grundschule Egersdorf have once again clinched the top spot in the annual bicycle test. This marks the school's second consecutive victory, following their triumph in 2023.
The bicycle test, organised by the Zirndorf police inspection, is a fixed component of the school curriculum for all participating primary schools. A total of 1,156 students from 55 fourth classes of 14 primary schools in Fürth district took part in the test.
The children's practical cycling performance was evaluated based on their ability to participate safely and in accordance with traffic rules, as in previous years. District administrator Bernd Obst praised the children's performance and the role of primary schools and their teachers in traffic education as important components of road safety.
Rangau-Grundschule Egersdorf's winning class, Class 4b, led by teacher Frau Bunke, received a travelling trophy and 100 euros for the class fund. Class 4c of the Cadolzburg primary school came in third place, while Class 4e/f of the Stein primary school secured the second position.
