They mostly stem from our upbringing, society, and figures of authority, and we either adopted them without putting much thought or are only dimly aware of them. Habitual Negative Thinking

Sadly, that approach actually increases the likelihood we'll experience the very problems we're trying to avoid.
Shift your focus from anticipating problems to expecting the best. You'll be amazed at how smoothly things will start going, and you'll experience more of your desired outcomes. To optimize your thinking, repeat this seemingly silly affirmation frequently: "Everything always seems to go my way - hooray, hooray! I get everything I want and more - galore, galore!"
Repressed Negative Emotions
Another hidden stumbling block causing us to unwittingly attract adversity and sabotage our dreams is bottled-up negative emotions. These emotions stem from emotionally charged past experiences and can create problems in subtle and insidious ways.
Many people hold on to (or suppress) the negative emotions from powerful emotional events such as anger, frustration, resentment, fear, and low self-esteem. These trapped emotions are formidable negative energy that interferes with the smooth flow of our energy bodies, which can then manifest as dysfunction, disease, and physical discomfort. Worse yet, these trapped emotions also act as a powerful magnet, attracting more adversity into our lives.
So, a significant chunk of the pain, suffering, and adversity in our lives is due to negative emotional energies we've locked away within us. The good news is by freeing ourselves from these trapped emotions, many undesirable manifestations will often vanish from our lives.
