Durham & Zaporizhzhia Universities Strengthen Ties with Student Exchange & Research Collaboration
Durham University and Zaporizhzhia National University (ZNU) have strengthened their academic ties. Over the summer, Durham hosted over 40 ZNU visitors for joint research and best practice sharing. Ten ZNU students will study at Durham from autumn 2023.
The partnership between the two universities was bolstered by a meeting between Durham Vice-Chancellor Karen O'Brien and ZNU Vice-Rector Sergiy Kushnir. They discussed a long-term collaboration, culminating in a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Durham Law School and ZNU's Law School.
In the upcoming autumn, ten ZNU students will be received by Durham representatives during their study stay. This follows a summer visit by a ZNU professional staff delegation, who shared best practices and explored collaboration opportunities in areas like energy, student wellbeing, and internationalisation.
Durham and ZNU have identified shared research interests in topics such as memory politics, post-conflict urban renewal, mental health, legal aspects of conflict, global justice, and internal displacement.
The partnership between Durham University and Zaporizhzhia National University continues to flourish. With ten ZNU students set to study in Durham and ongoing research collaborations, both institutions look forward to a productive future together.
