Deputy PM Affirms Commitment to Back Vocational Initiatives by German Organization

In a significant step towards enhancing Vietnam's vocational education, the German-based Avestos Group is currently partnering with Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training to deliver training programs based on German standards. This collaboration is a key element of the broader Vietnam–Germany Strategic Partnership, reflecting a mutual interest in expanding investment and business ties between the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung publicly praised Avestos for its contributions, which have helped bring Vietnam’s vocational education activities closer to international, especially German, standards and practices. Avestos, represented by CEO Klaus Michael, has established formal cooperation with the ministry to implement vocational training initiatives. The primary goal is to enhance the quality and international competitiveness of Vietnam’s vocational education system, aligning it more closely with global best practices, particularly those of Germany.

However, despite the progress, Avestos has encountered several challenges. These include operational and regulatory hurdles, the need for government support to resolve these issues, and potential language and cultural barriers. Avestos has explicitly requested further support from the Vietnamese government to address these challenges, underlining the importance of responsive policy and administrative facilitation for foreign investors in the vocational sector.

Deputy PM Dung has pledged government support for these initiatives and has directed the ministry to coordinate closely with Avestos to address issues and propose solutions within the framework of Vietnamese law. The discussion, which took place in Ha Noi on July 23, 2025, underscored the importance of addressing these challenges to ensure the success of the collaboration.

The partnership between Avestos and the Ministry of Education and Training is a significant step towards internationalising Vietnam’s vocational education. The challenges faced by Avestos, while substantial, are not insurmountable. With the support of the Vietnamese government and a commitment to addressing these issues, the collaboration has the potential to bring about lasting benefits for both countries.
