Defensive powerhouse CJ Allen spearheads Georgia's defense as they commence the 2025 season
In a recent pregame or postgame show, Georgia football's linebacker CJ Allen shared his thoughts on the upcoming season's defense. The show, aired in 2025, was hosted by former Bulldog QB Jake Fromm and sports director Baillie Burmaster, and live from Athens.
Allen, one of the leaders on the new look Georgia defense, spoke about the team's bonding over the offseason. "We've really come together as a unit," he said. "We've been bonding outside the facility as well as in it."
Despite the loss of star players such as safety Malaki Starks, linebacker Jalon Walker, and defensive end Mykel Williams, Allen emphasised that the team is not focusing on individual losses. Instead, they are focusing on coming together as a whole.
The Georgia defense, under head coach Kirby Smart, consistently has one of the best defenses in the country. Allen reiterated this, stating that the team has had a great offseason. "We've been working hard and getting better day by day," he said.
Looking ahead to the upcoming schedule, Allen expressed his excitement about games against Texas and Alabama. However, he made it clear that his focus is not on future games but on continuing to work hard and improve.
"I'm just honoured to be a part of this team," Allen said. "We're all focused on playing the Georgia way."
