CUSTOMS Kicks Off 2025 Training Programs with 1,700 New Recruits
The German Customs Administration, or CUSTOMS, has kicked off its training and study programs for the year 2025. Over 1,700 young people have begun their journey, with 39 starting at the Main Customs Office Bielefeld. These programs offer a secure future in a large federal administration.
The CUSTOMS provides two main paths: middle service training and a dual study program in administrative informatics. The middle service training lasts two years and leads to the professional title of tax administrator. Meanwhile, the dual study program, which started on September 1, 2025, takes three years and concludes with academic degrees 'Bachelor of Law' (LL.B.) or 'Bachelor of Science' (B.Sc.).
Both programs combine theoretical learning at specific academies and practical phases in various customs offices and directorates. New recruits took a spoken oath to serve the Federal Republic of Germany and commit to its basic values.
Administrative informatics specialists are particularly useful in digital forensics, digitization, and database care. Christoph Schubert and Ralf Wagenfeld serve as contact persons for training and studies at the Hauptzollstelle Bielefeld.
The CUSTOMS offers training and study places for a secure future. Applications for the September 1, 2026, starting date are currently open until October 15, 2025. After completing the programs, young customs officers can be assigned to various areas of the customs service.
