In the historic city of Bamberg, preparations for the upcoming school year are well underway. With the swearing-in of 45 new teacher trainees and the introduction of ten new school principals and deputy principals, the educational landscape is set to be further strengthened.

The ceremony, attended by Bamberg's Second Mayor and Social Affairs Officer, Jonas Glüsenkamp, and County Administrator Johann Kalb, marked a significant milestone in the city's educational journey.

According to the latest statistics, there are 343 active teaching staff at primary and lower secondary schools in the city of Bamberg, and an additional 784 in the Bamberg district. These dedicated educators will be joined by the new teaching staff, who will begin their duties at the start of the new school year.

In the city of Bamberg alone, approximately 2133 students will be taught at lower secondary schools, and an additional 2584 at primary schools. Across the Bamberg district, around 6133 students will be taught at primary schools, and 2133 at lower secondary schools in the 2025/26 school year.

The importance of teachers for the future of the region was highlighted by both Jonas Glüsenkamp and County Administrator Johann Kalb. Glüsenkamp emphasized that class teachers at primary and lower secondary schools are crucial for the common good, while Kalb underlined the fundamental role these roles play in the educational region of Bamberg.

Mayor Andreas Starke praised the motivation of the new school principals and deputy principals, expressing his confidence in their ability to lead and inspire the next generation of learners.
