Beeline Finds Russians' Summer Learning Habits: Adults Read More, Young Users Prefer Social Networks
Beeline, a leading Russian telecommunications company, has analyzed its customers' educational app usage during vacations, revealing interesting insights into learning habits over the summer of 2025.
The study, conducted on Teacher's Day, found that 56% of adult Russian travelers engaged in reading during their vacations. Each vacationer spent around 45 hours reading, with book reading services topping the list in terms of traffic volume. Users downloaded approximately 5 gigabytes of books over the summer.
Online university traffic increased by 40% compared to 2024. Vacationers spent almost 37 hours per person on online universities, more than double the time spent in 2024. Video conferencing services were used for around 16 hours per vacationer, often for communicating with tutors.
However, the study also showed that young people preferred other online activities over reading. Social networks were favored by 62% of young users, while 61% chose language learning services.
Beeline's analysis highlights the growing trend of online learning among Russian adults, with significant increases in time spent on online universities and book reading services. Despite this, young users still prefer social networks and language learning services. The most used online universities visited by Beeline customers during their vacations in Russia in 2025 were not identified in the study.
