First Atlantic Bank Announces New School Infrastructure in Pru West District

First Atlantic Bank has unveiled and donated newly refurbished classroom blocks to the Abua D/A Primary School, located within the Pru West district of the Bono East Region. The bank undertook a two-month project, completing renovations of an older six-unit classroom block, washrooms, and providing essential furniture, among other improvements. Additionally, a six-unit classroom block was constructed to augment the school's existing facilities, catering to over 500 students.

Addressing the gathering before officially handing over the classrooms, Mr. Amarquaye Amar, Board Chairman of First Atlantic Bank, outlined the institution's commitment to enhancing primary education within the Pru West district of the Bono East Region. He highlighted four key components of the project:

  1. Renovation of the existing six-unit classroom block, including its restroom facilities.
  2. Construction of a new six-unit classroom block incorporating an ICT lab and teachers' common room.
  3. Provision of 60 dual-desks, tables, and chairs for all classrooms.
  4. Tables and chairs for the ICT lab and staff common rooms.

This latest project marks the bank's fourth significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. Previous projects include the establishment of the Atlantic Lounge, a comfortable waiting area for family and friends of patients at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, in 2021. In 2019, the bank constructed and donated a fully-furnished classroom unit to the Cape Coast School for the Blind and Deaf. Similarly, in 2018, the bank built and handed over a fully-equipped Mother and Baby Care Unit to the people of Talensi in the Upper East Region.

Dr. Ernest Addison, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, commended the joint collaboration between the community leadership and First Atlantic Bank for their efforts in enhancing the lives of the youth through improved infrastructure and facilities within the Abua community.
