Contestants are invited to submit a self-written prose text, short story, or essay. The German language should be handled with mastery, sensitivity, and creativity, with the submissions limited to no more than five pages.
The prize includes a cash award of 500 euros and a recognition prize for the runner-up. The formal ceremony is scheduled to take place in November 2023 at the Literature House, a renowned meeting place for literature enthusiasts in Wiesbaden. The winning entries will be presented by a skilled actor or actress during the event.
Established in honor of the Wiesbaden-based poet, George Konell, the scholarship celebrates both the art of writing and the artistic engagement with the German language. Konell was an integral part of Wiesbaden's literary scene for his literary work and long-standing connections with the city.
