2025 Ho West Tech Fair Empowers 200 Volta Region Youth in ICT Skills
The 2025 Ho West Annual Tech Fair recently concluded, bringing together 200 students and teachers from the Volta Region. The event, hosted by Awudome Senior High School in Tsito, aimed to empower youth with digital skills and transform the Volta Region into an ICT hub.
The fair offered hands-on training in various ICT areas. Participants learned drone piloting and mapping, 3D modelling and printing, coding, virtual reality, website development, and entrepreneurship. The Ho West District Assembly showed interest in engaging participants for mapping projects to support property rate collection.
The initiative, led by MP Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, seeks to equip young people with skills relevant to 21st-century jobs. Over 500 applications were received, but limited resources allowed for only 200 participants. To expand access, an online training platform is being developed, with weekend and vacation programmes planned.
